Gents:
One of my contacts appears to use a Jabber client named "neos". Whenever he and I are chatting, I get bombarded by a deluge of empty message windows. He isn't consciously doing this to me; it appears that neos is sending me empty messages for some reason.
As it stands, it looks like this could be a Denial-of-Service bug in tkabber. Somebody could start sending me a constant stream of empty messages and occupy my desktop with tkabber message dialogs. It'd take a while to squelch them because every new message window would grab focus.
So... suggestion/request: can tkabber ignore empty messages and messages where the message body is only whitespace?
Thanks!
Re: tkabber does not ignore empty messages
It will not help if someone will bombard you with nonempty messages... But still, ignoring empty messages might be a good strategy...
How difficult would it be to
How difficult would it be to create a patch to implement this? I'm not familiar with the tkabber internals.
empty messages
Those are NOT empty messages. They are "typing" notifications which are encapsulated in a message tag with some special content, but no body.
