An anonymous user posted this message on a page in the Tkabber Book. I've moved it here since this is the best place for it:

I also use Debian on two machines :)

We know the maintainer for the Debian Tkabber package has not updated the package to latest stable version, 0.9.6. On the official Debian repositories we can only find the old 0.9.5. It seems the maintainer is busy, and does not answer our mails, so the best solution should be to make our own Debian packages and post them on this website.

Unfortunately, I don't have knowledge to make a Debian package, and I'm too busy to learn. Of course, if you or anyone else is kind enought to build it, we will host it here for the debianists pleasure :)

In the meanwhile you can :

  1. Install Tkabber 0.9.5 Debian package
  2. Find where it is installed (maybe in /usr/lib/tkabber or similar)
  3. Replace the old files by the new ones, obtained from the .tar.gz or from CVS

Tkabber 0.9.6 in Debian sid

Update: Tkabber Debian package has been recently updated to 0.9.6 link.
